Two arrested over stabbing in broad daylight in Worthing

Two arrests have been made after a man was stabbed in broad daylight in Worthing.

Emergency services were called out to New Parade at around 3:20pm on Thursday (5 March).

Sussex Police have confirmed a 30 year old man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested for assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and a 31-year-old man, from Worthing, has been arrested for assisting an offender.

Detective Inspector Chris May said: “Two men have been arrested in relation to this incident.

“This is an active investigation and we encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information, such as CCTV or mobile footage, to contact us.

“There will be patrols in the area for reassurance, and people are encouraged to stop and talk to officers.”
