Family members and friends have shared heartfelt tributes to a man who died following a knife attack in Brighton.

Reports emerged of a fight early in the morning on Sunday, 26th April, at a property in Regency Square where emergency services discovered two men with serious injuries.

Tio Day, sadly pronounced dead at the scene, is fondly remembered by his relatives.

His cousin spoke of Tio’s deep love for his family, saying, "He loved deeply, especially his brothers," and described him as "thoughtful, loving, and full of wonder."

Tio's aunt expressed her sorrow, remembering his smile and gentle nature, saying she will always cherish his memory.

Members of the Brighton community have also paid tribute, describing him as "kind, intelligent, and warm."

On Tuesday, 28th April, 26-year-old Daniel Bassett, who has no fixed address, was charged with murder and attempted murder.

Following his arrest the day before, Bassett appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 29th April, where he was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, 1st May.
