Three charged after burglary at Hove home

Police arrested two men and a woman after a reported break-in in Waterloo Street.

Three people have been charged following a reported burglary at a property in Hove.

Police were called to Waterloo Street at around 6.30am on 28 April after a woman woke to find a man inside her home.

The suspect allegedly fled the address with several belongings, including a bank card which was later used in nearby shops.

Following searches and enquiries, officers arrested Jason Knight, 37, Stefan Gilmore, 33, and Victoria Hayes-Sparkes, 31.

Knight, of Chailey Road in Brighton, has been charged with burglary and fraud by false representation and was remanded in custody.

Gilmore, of no fixed address, and Hayes-Sparkes, of Grand Parade in Brighton, were charged with assisting an offender and granted conditional bail.

All three appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 29 April and are due before Lewes Crown Court on 27 May.
