A 28-year-old man has been jailed for 15 years after stabbing two people in Cootham in January.

Both victims were seriously injured during the attack and needed hospital treatment. One needed surgery.

Thomas Hoe, from Pulborough Road, was found guilty of two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent at Lewes Crown Court.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison on 25th September.

He wasn't found guilty of attempted murder.

A Sussex police spokesperson said "Officers were called to Pulborough Road at around 7.25pm on Thursday, 16 January, following reports of a stabbing.

"A 30-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were found with serious injuries consistent with knife wounds.

"Hoe had attacked the woman - who was known to him - with a knife following an argument that had taken place earlier in the day.

"A man, also known to Hoe, attempted to restrain him but was stabbed multiple times in the torso, neck, arms, and legs.

"Hoe then called 999, stating that three people had been stabbed. He had sustained a self-inflicted leg injury during the attack. He was arrested shortly afterwards."
