Sussex police officer charged with historical sexual offences involving two girls

PC Samuel Davis faces serious charges from incidents alleged to have occurred before his police career

A Sussex Police officer, PC Samuel Davis, is facing serious charges involving sexual offences against two girls.

The alleged incidents took place between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2019, before Davis joined the police force.

Davis, aged 21, has been charged with the rape of a girl aged between 13 and 15, and sexual assault by touching of a child.

Both victims were known to Davis, and they, along with their families, are receiving support from specialist officers.

PC Davis, who was stationed in the Brighton and Hove division, has been suspended from duty pending the judicial process.

He is set to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on 13th March.

The case was referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, leading to a conduct investigation by the Professional Standards Department.

This inquiry is on hold until the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
