A Sussex hospice is among dozens across England urging the government to better support bereaved parents.

Chestnut Tree House, which supports families across the county, is backing calls for more sustainable funding.

It's thought that short-term funding boosts rather than a more sustainable model is fueling regional disparities.

Between 2023 and 2024, the charity provided almost 1500 councilling sessions with children, parents and their siblings, according to it's annual report.

The calls come as experts in child death, healthcare professionals and parents take part in the UK’s first National Summit on Child Death.

Together, they're sharing a model of bereavement care, and call for urgent national action to address the "postcode lottery" in access to care for families who have lost a child.
