Efit released of suspect after sexual assault of teenage girl
Police appeal for information following attack in St Leonards
Detectives have issued an efit image of a suspect in connection with a sexual assault on a teenage girl in St Leonards.
The incident took place on Monday, 20th July, when a man grabbed and assaulted the victim in a field near Edinburgh Road at approximately 3.05pm.
The suspect fled towards Filsham Road after the victim screamed.
He is described as white, aged in his early 30s to mid-40s, standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, with light brown curly hair and stubble.
He was reportedly wearing a red jacket and dark blue jeans at the time of the attack.
Detective Sergeant Daisy Alden is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Our specially trained officers are supporting the victim and the investigation is progressing swiftly," Alden said.
"We are eager to hear from anyone who may recognize the suspect from the efit or have information regarding his whereabouts."
The police are also asking witnesses who were in the area at the time to share any observations or relevant CCTV or doorbell footage that could assist their inquiry.
"We understand the concern this incident has caused within the community. Neighbourhood police officers are available in the area to provide reassurance," Alden added.
