The Independent Office for Police Conduct has launched an investigation.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has launched an investigation into an officer for potential gross misconduct.
It's after the force confiremd it had made a voluntary conduct referral on 13 June.
The IOPC said the officer is alleged to have deliberately misled or provided false information during a vetting interview.
An IOPC spokesperson said: “We can confirm, as part of our ongoing investigation into a senior Suffolk Constabulary officer, we have served a notice informing them they are being investigated for potential gross misconduct.
“This is in relation to an allegation they deliberately misled or provided false information during a vetting interview.
“Our investigation began following a voluntary conduct referral from Suffolk Constabulary on 13 June.
“The serving of a conduct notice does not necessarily mean disciplinary proceedings will follow. At the end of our investigation, we will decide whether any individuals should face disciplinary proceedings.”
