Second arrest over fire that destroyed 140 cars near Gatwick
Investigations continue following a blaze over the weekend
A second man has been arrested in connection with the large fire that destroyed 140 cars near Gatwick Airport.
This follows the arrest of a 67-year-old man on 22nd August, both apprehended on suspicion of arson.
Both men have been bailed pending further investigations.
Emergency services were called out to Caldyne Business Park, Rowfant just after 9pm on Saturday (22 August).
Power in the immediate area was shut off, affecting businesses and homes, with nearby roads closed as precautionary measures.
A number of cars were damaged at a holiday parking site, and any affected consumers have been advised to contact their operator directly for assistance.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1504 of 22/08.
