Star-studded lineup boosts local community groups, says Brighton Pride organiser
Day two of the event's welcoming the likes of Fatboy Slim and Sugababes to the stage
Star-studded appearances over Brighton's Pride weekend, are hugely boosting LGBTQ+ community groups, it's organiser says.
Celebrations are continuing today with local legend Fatboy Slim and pop icons Sugababes taking to the stage, following on from Mariah Carey's performance in Preston Park yesterday.
Managing Director of Brighton Pride Paul Kemp said: "People do love the campaigning of it.
"We do mix in political kind of speakers and and you know campaign messaging.
"Our ticketed events also raise money."
"We've raised about 1.4 million over the last 13 years, which goes into supporting our community groups."
Over the weekend, the event's expected to attract around 300,000 people to the city, and boost the local economy by over £22 million.
