Man arrested after police officers assaulted in Middleton
One of the officers sustained a head injury
A man has been arrested after two police officers were assaulted in Middleton-on-Sea.
Sussex Police said it was called out at around 6pm on Sunday (1 March) to Lane End Road following reports of a vehicle in the middle of the road where the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel.
The man in the car assaulted two officers, and one of them sustained a head injury and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault and driving while unfit through drink or drugs and taken to custody where he was further arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Sussex Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
