Police appeal after fatal collision in Crawley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Crawley.
Emergency services were called to The Boulevard at about 8.22pm last night (Thursday 4 June) following reports of a collision involving a bus and a motorcycle.
Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Crawley, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say his next of kin have been informed.
Sussex Police said:
"An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing, and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or captured any relevant CCTV, dash cam, mobile phone or doorbell footage.
"We are aware that footage of the incident is circulating on social media. We ask that people refrain from sharing it further, to avoid causing additional distress to his family. Any footage which may assist the investigation should instead be provided directly to police.
"Anyone with information or footage is asked to email [email protected] quoting Operation Carver."
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said:
“Last night (June 4) at 8.27pm we responded to a road traffic collision at The Boulevard in Crawley.
“Joint Fire Control mobilised two fire engines to the scene along with a heavy rescue tender.
“Crews assisted colleagues from Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance and Helicopter Emergency Medical Services in making the scene safe, before leaving at 11.14pm.”
