Pizza Hut Sussex branches set to close
Full list published as 68 Pizza Hut restaurants set to close after UK company collapse
Pizza Hut says its branches in Brighton Marina, Crawley and Eastbourne will be among the 68 restaurants closing after the company behind its UK branches fell into administration.
DC London Pie, which operated Pizza Hut’s UK dine-in restaurants under a franchise agreement, appointed administrators from FTI on Monday following financial difficulties.
The restructuring also involves shutting 11 Pizza Hut delivery locations, with a total of 1,210 employees facing potential redundancy.
In a move to keep as much of the business running as possible, American hospitality firm Yum! Brands, the global owner of Pizza Hut, has bought the UK restaurant operation through a pre-pack administration deal, allowing 64 sites to remain open.
Administrators have now published the full list of restaurants that are set to close across various towns and cities in the coming weeks.
The closures come as the restaurant sector continues to face challenging trading conditions, with rising costs and changes in customer habits impacting high street brands.
Pizza Hut continues to operate other outlets in the UK, but the impacted locations will be closed as part of the company’s efforts to restructure and ensure the brand’s future presence on UK high streets.
