Two people in their twenties have been jailed over a series of arson attacks in Brighton.

21-year-old Elle-Mai Dunford and 26-year-old Callum Radband will spend a combined total of 14 years in prison.

The pair were part of a group of four who set two flats and a car alight in September 2023 - with the other two involved, who transported the pair to and from their victims' addresses, set to be sentenced next month.

Alongside the others, Dunford and Radband intended to target a man who owed £23,000 in drug debt, as well as his family.

They set alight homes on Norwich Crescent and Stonehurst court - the latter seeing the flat of an innocent woman, who lived above the intended victim, set alight.

The attack saw the woman's usual route of exit - the staircase - engulfed, forcing her to climb to the roof with her dog to call 999.

Judge Huseyin told Lewes Crown Court that the woman was left in a "state of terror."

A total of between £60,000 - £80,000 of damage was caused to the flats on Stonehurst Court and Norwich Crescent – and another £14,000 to the car.
