Murder arrest after man found dead in Brighton

Police investigating the death of a man at a property in Brighton have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

Emergency services were called out at around 10am yesterday (Thursday 16th) following concerns for the welfare of a 41-year-old in Upper Hollingdean Road.

The man was found inside and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sussex Police are currently treating the death as unexplained and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death.

A 49-year-old man from Hove has been taken into custody while enquiries continue.

Officers believe the two men are known to each other.

DCI Mark Cullimore of Sussex Police said:

"There will be increased police activity in the area as we gather information and evidence to assist us in establishing what has led to this man’s death.

"I’d like to thank residents and the wider public in advance for their patience while we carry out these enquiries and ask if anyone has any information or concerns relating to this matter that they speak to an officer or get in touch with us.”
