Two men have been charged after police discovered cannabis factories in Portslade.

Sussex Police received reports on Thursday January 8, in regards to suspicions that two units in Gordon Mews were operating as cannabis factories.

A large quantity of plants and growing equipment were found in units at the suspected location.

One men was arrested at the premises, and a second man was arrested nearby after he was seen leaving the building through a window. A third man from Hove was also arrested following address enquiries.

Oltian Skarra, 21, and Ervis Marku, 26, both of no fixed address, appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 9, charged with producing a controlled Class B drug.

They have been remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing on February 6 at Lewes Crown Court.

The 49-year-old man from Hove has been released on conditional bail following his arrest on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
