Man charged with stabbing at Bognor pub

Incident occurred at the Unicorn Public House in Bognor

A man has been charged following a stabbing incident at the Unicorn Public House in Bognor.

This happened on the evening of 14th February, just before 10.30pm.

The victim reported the assault and stabbing to the police.

Officers attended the scene and arrested Brett Jenkins, 63, who has no fixed address.

He was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a bladed article, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Jenkins was remanded in custody to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on 16th February.

The suspect and victim were known to each other, and no other individuals are being sought in connection with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Simon Smith said: “The victim in this case sustained serious injuries but is thankfully now in a stable condition.

"Knife related offences will not be tolerated, and robust action will be taken in relation to any reports involving the use of a weapon”.
