Man arrested after two injured following dog attack
The incident happened over the weekend
A man is being questioned after two people were injured by a dog in Crawley on Saturday.
Sussex Police officers were called to Sunningdale Court in the Southgate area of the town at around 1pm.
Crawley police stated:
"We responded to a report of a dangerously out of control dog in the Southgate area earlier today.
The dog, a Cane Corso breed, caused serious injuries to two members of the public who required medical treatment.
Multiple officers, including armed and Neighbourhood Policing Team officers, attended the scene to ensure everyone was kept safe.
After receiving the call shortly after 1pm, the dog was contained and secured by police before being taken to a veterinary clinic.
Sadly, following an assessment, it was humanely put to sleep in the interest of public safety and animal welfare."
