Police stopped the car after it was driven the wrong way down Morley Street
A 41-year-old man has been arrested after a car crashed into eight parked vehicles in Brighton.
It happened on Morley Street after police pursued the car through the city.
Officers had first responded to a report of an intoxicated man in a car verbally abusing members of the public in Lewes Road, near Elm Grove, at around 4.50pm on Sunday 3rd September.
When officers attended, the vehicle had already left the scene.
The car was later found by The Level, in Union Road, at around 6.50pm.
Police tried to engage with the man, but he failed to comply with instructions and drove away.
Officers pursued the car to Morley Street, where it was driven the wrong way down the road and crashed into eight parked vehicles.
Tactics were used to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, and the 41-year-old man was detained.
He has since been taken to hospital for treatment.
He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, failing to stop, and breaching a court injunction.
No other injuries have been reported.
