Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses
A 55-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an unlawfully held firearm in Worthing.
Sussex Police say armed offices were called out to a property on Argyll Mews at around 6pm on Wednesday (25 February) following a report there was a man in possession of a firearm.
Both suspects remain in custody.
DC Sophie Chaplain, from Worthing CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Argyll Mews area of Worthing at around 6pm on Wednesday, 25 February, who may have seen anything suspicious.
“In particular, we would ask residents and motorists with CCTV, doorbell footage or dash cam recordings from the area at that time to check their footage and contact us if they have anything that could assist our investigation.”
