Police find five people in lorry near Arundel in suspected illegal entry case
A man has been arrested.
Five people have been detained by police after being discovered in the rear of a lorry parked on the A27 at Crossbush, near Arundel, on Monday morning, 19th January.
Officers were called to reports of noise coming from the vehicle and located five individuals suspected of illegal entry to the UK.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation and has been taken into custody.
The A27 was closed while officers responded to the incident, but the road has since been reopened.
An investigation is ongoing, and police are working alongside other agencies in connection with the situation.
No further details about the individuals detained or the arrested man have been disclosed at this stage.
