Lightning strike likely cause of fire in St Leonards-on-Sea

East Sussex Fire say a lightning strike was the likely cause of a fire at a residential building in St Leonards-on-sea.

The blaze broke out last night, with no casualties reported.

Four fire engines and the Aerial Ladder Platform were in attendance with crews from The Ridge, Bohemia Road, Broad Oak and Bexhill.

Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed.

Firefighters used six Breathing Apparatus, two hose reel jets and one main jet to extinguish the fire.

It has been extinguished now.
