Horsham woman helps over a hundred teenagers with dream prom outfit

A Horsham woman has helped over a hundred teenagers secure their dream prom outfit - without breaking the bank.
Emma Green began Prom Dreams in 2019 after noticing how expensive celebrations were getting.
Since, alongside volunteers Lucy and Sally, she has collected over a thousand dresses and hundreds of suits which can be bought in exchange for a small charity donation - or for free, if needed.
"Everyone's so grateful," Emma told Greatest Hits Radio.
"We hear the stories of how that they wouldn't be able to go because they wouldn't be able to afford it and how much pressure it has taken off of the families."
Her stock is made up of second-hand outfits - and some leftovers from local businesses.
"Some of the dresses we have are brand new," she continued.
"Even this year we've had a prom suit shop in Eastbourne, and they have actually donated a suit for a young person and it's all been specially fitted for them."
The shop's located in Splendid Care's disused Orchard Lodge, in Warnham.
Emma added that private viewings are also available for anyone who needs them.
