Horsham fireworks display cancelled as strong winds and heavy rain forecast
Organisers have called off Saturday's popular fireworks event over safety concerns, with full refunds being offered to ticket holders.
Horsham's big fireworks display has been cancelled this weekend because of forecasts for strong winds and heavy rain.
The event was due to take place at Horsham Sports Club on Saturday 24 October, but organisers say the expected weather conditions mean it cannot safely go ahead.
The decision was made following discussions with event partners and authorities, with the safety of visitors and staff the top priority.
Anyone who bought tickets will receive a full refund.
Those who booked through Eventbrite will be refunded automatically, while tickets purchased directly from the club can be refunded at its office during weekday opening hours.
Despite the cancellation, Horsham Sports Club says its clubhouse will remain open on Saturday.
Organisers have thanked everyone for their understanding.
