Hastings man charged with kidnap and dangerous driving following collision

Alfie Foster, 22, faces multiple charges after a car hit railings in St Helen’s Road, leaving a woman seriously injured

A man from Hastings has been charged with kidnap, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving following a collision.

Alfie Foster, 22, of Crowborough Road, Hastings, is also charged with intentional strangulation, and assault on a woman known to him and theft from a dwelling.

It's reported that officers were called to the scene around 12:27am on Sunday 18 January after a car collided with railings in St Helen's Road.

A 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, whilst the driver left the scene. He was later arrested at a nearby address.

Foster has been remanded to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 21 January.

Anyone with information surrounding the collision is being urged to come forward in order to support police with their investigation.
