High-speed cars racing around Goodwood to test new sustainable fuel
It's as Formula 1 looks to become fully sustainable by next year
High-performance cars are racing around Goodwood Motor Circuit today to test out a new sustainable fuel option.
SUSTAIN c50 is made from a second generation biomass, which would usually go to waste.
It's hoped using the fuel could cut greenhouse gas emissions by 35%.
Two cars already use the fuel, including the Ginetta G44 GT4, and the Van Diemen RF96mm2024.
It's thought testing the fuel could impact how sustainable motoring could look for every day cars in the future.
The day comes as Formula 1 makes the shift to using 100% sustainable fuels by next year.
