A security alert at Gatwick Airport's South Terminal has been resolved after six hours.

A 'suspected prohibited item' was discovered in a passenger's luggage at around 8.00am on Friday morning (22nd November).

Sussex Police said officers were called to the site, along with bomb disposal experts.

Travellers had reported large delays at security checks earlier in the morning.

The train station at the airport had been closed, with operators' services not calling there.

We're told the station is due to reopen soon though.
