A man, who taught at a former private boarding school in Sussex, has been charged with sexual offences against three boys in the 1990s.

Jeffrey Nicholls, of Waterloo Road in Cardiff, faces allegations after four men reported to the police that they were sexually assaulted by a teacher at the now-closed St Aubyn’s School in Rottingdean, East Sussex, between 1990 and 1995.

Sussex Police said the 73-year-old has been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a boy under 16, two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14 and one count of making an indecent image of a child.

Nicholls is on bail and will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on May 21.
