Pedestrian in his 90's dies after being hit by a car Eastbourne

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 90s died following a collision outside the Langham Hotel on Royal Parade, Eastbourne.

Emergency services were called at around 5.50pm on Friday, 7th November, after a grey Volkswagen Polo collided with the pedestrian, who was from Wadhurst.

The man suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Sadly, he passed away four days later.

His next of kin have been informed, and police have expressed their condolences to the family during this difficult time.

The 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, from Eastbourne, was uninjured.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage. Police are also seeking footage from the moments leading up to the collision that captured either the victim or the vehicle.
