Reduced bus fares funded by East Sussex County Council have now come to an end.

Stagecoach buses across East Sussex are no longer offering discounted tickets such as the £1 and £2 short hop fares or a range of East Sussex DayRider multi-operator tickets, due to the cessation of funding.

Child fares, including tickets for accompanied and unaccompanied children, have also been stopped.

The £3 single fare cap will remain in place for longer bus journeys, but prices for shorter trips now vary, starting from £1.90 for adults and £1.10 for children depending on the journey length.

For unlimited day travel, adults can buy a Local DayRider for £6.30 or broaden their travel area with a South East DayRider for £9.90. Under 19s can purchase either at reduced rates starting at £4.80. A Discovery ticket, valid across multiple counties including Kent and Sussex, is priced at £10 for adults and £8 for children.

The Freedom Weekly ticket for under 19s will still be available but its cost is set to increase from £15 to £20 on 16th February for seven days of unlimited travel.

Passengers who travel frequently may find longer-term tickets such as the 7 Day MegaRider or 28 Day MegaRider better suited to their needs, offering unlimited travel either locally (£24.60 for weekly or £38.60 for monthly) or across the South East region.

Stagecoach advises passengers to speak to their driver for assistance in finding the best ticket option for their travel plans.
