Driver dies in crash on the B2204 in Catsfield
Police appeal for witnesses following the fatal collision
A serious crash on the B2204 in Catsfield has resulted in the death of a driver.
The incident took place at around 11pm on Friday evening (20th February)
The driver was behind the wheel of a grey Seat Leon which left the road, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two passengers in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
Another vehicle, a Skoda Fabia was present at the scene, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was later also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Police closed the road overnight for forensic investigation, but it has since reopened.
Detective Sergeant Suzy Marten said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision which happened eastbound and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles being driven eastbound just prior to the collision.”
