Two men guilty in connection with Brighton death 34-year-old man
Cameron Devlin died after assault in 2019, two charged with wounding

Two men have been found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with the death of 34-year-old Cameron Devlin in Brighton.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 21st December 2019 when Cameron Devlin fell asleep outside a shop in North Street during a night out.
He was approached by a group of men, leading to an altercation where Cameron was kicked after falling to the ground.
Emergency services attended the scene, and Cameron was treated for a serious shoulder injury and a facial laceration but died five days later due to sepsis.
Following an extensive investigation, charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service on 13th August 2025.
Oliver Priddle, 26, from Brighton, and Niraj Amaidas, 25, from Crawley, were facing the more serious charges of murder, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, while three other arrested men were released without charge.
The trial, which commenced on 3rd June at Brighton Crown Court, concluded with the guilty verdicts on 7th July.
Both Priddle and Amaidas have been bailed ahead of their sentencing on Friday, 10th July.
Detective Inspector James Meanwell of the Major Crime Team highlighted the lengthy and complex investigations, stating that Cameron’s family had waited over six years for this conclusion.
Efforts from witnesses, officers, and other staff contributed significantly to the case.
Cameron's family has requested privacy and support remains appreciated as the legal proceedings draw to a close.
