Police deploy tactical stop to end dangerous driving incident
Two boys and a man have been charged following a dangerous driving incident near Chichester that led to weapons being seized.
The incident took place on Monday evening, 5th January, at around 6.30pm, when officers pursued a vehicle that had failed to stop. The pursuit ended quickly when police carried out a tactical stop to prevent it from continuing into Chichester city centre.
Weapons were found inside the vehicle, and a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old man were arrested on Monday evening.
Charges brought against three individuals
George Lowman, 19, of Whyke Road, Chichester, was charged at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 6th January, with possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
He has been bailed and is expected to appear in court again on 10th February.
A 17-year-old boy faced multiple charges at Worthing County Court on Tuesday, including failing to stop when directed by police, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without third-party insurance, and failing to comply with a community protection notice.
He has also been bailed and will appear in court on 26th February.
A 16-year-old boy was charged at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday with failing to comply with a community protection order.
He has been bailed and is also due to appear in court on 26th February.
