Campaigners are set to flood the public gallery as Arun District Councillors make a decision on controversial plans for homes in Angmering.

Residents have been protesting over the building of 190 homes on Land West of Bewley Road, over concerns they'll lose their green spaces for good.

Building the homes on the farmland - equivalent to 39.8 acres - is thought to increase flood risk, damage the village's character and put pressure on local infrastructure.

As of Feburary, the application received over 1300 objections.

Lucy Todd, whose garden backs onto where the houses are planned, began the Protect Farmland West of Bewley Road campaign group - she explained there's also concerns over the loss of local walking routes: "We've got the footpath at the end of the garden, and then beyond that is the fields.

"We use that footpath loads, and we see lots of people going up and down.

"It's a really important place for the community, and a bit of an open space. A lot of people enjoy it, and enjoy the peace."

The development will be discussed in a planning meeting at 2pm today.
