Police are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old man suffered a serious head injury in an assault on Marine Parade, Brighton.

The incident took place just before 3pm on 5th October when the victim was walking near the Gym. He was reportedly struck on the head with a glass bottle by a man, resulting in a serious injury during an altercation.

Sulayman Sarr, 36, of no fixed address, was arrested later the same day and subsequently charged with grievous bodily harm and wounding with intent. He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 8th October and has been remanded into custody ahead of his next hearing on 11th November.
