A 76-year-old man from Brighton has been sentenced for stalking offences targeting three women.

Geoffrey Lower, of Stanmer Villas, terrified his victims by sending graphic messages, leaving voicemails, and approaching their homes between March and December 2025.

Lower was sentenced to six years at Lewes Crown Court, with three years to be spent in prison, and a 10-year restraining order imposed against two of his victims.

He is also subject to a Stalking Protection Order.

Lower's victims, aged 24, 35, and 51, were subjected to distressing behaviours, with some working in professional settings intended to support him due to previous offences.

One victim opted to work from home out of fear Lower would appear at her workplace.

Sussex Police arrested Lower following reports, charging him with stalking causing serious alarm or distress.

He pleaded guilty to the charges.

Detective Sergeant Kerri Bartup expressed gratitude to the victims for their courage in supporting the investigation.

Bartup stated, “Nobody should have to suffer stalking behaviours in their personal or professional lives...Sussex Police take all reports of stalking seriously."
