A Brighton couple have made it their mission to clean all of Sussex's road signs.

Choosing to remain anonymous, the pair - calling themselves simply 'The Filthy Signs couple' - decided they wanted to make a change after becoming bothered by dirty road signs themselves.

Since, they tell Greatest Hits Radio they receive multiple call-outs per day:

"It seems to have taken off quite well, so probably averaging 2 to 3 requests a day.

"That's bearing in mind, we're sort of been on the page for about 3 weeks doing this," one of the pair explained.

When asked if they had any repeat offenders, they mentioned they had a few call outs to Crawley - but added:

"It seems where there's more forestry and trees that you get the worst signs."

They're hoping the project will take them on a nationwide sign-cleaning road trip.

"We're husband and wife, it's a bonding experience for us," they explained.

"We don't really have a major plan. It's not a business. There's no goalposts at the end.

We're just doing it. And if people seem to like it, so we'll see where it takes us really." Hear all the latest news from across the UK on the hour, every hour, on Greatest Hits Radio on DAB, smartspeaker, at greatesthitsradio.co.uk, and on the Rayo app.
