Brighton & Hove residents asked about fortnightly bin collection plans
Council says more recycling and food waste collections mean households are producing less general rubbish.

Brighton and Hove residents are being asked for their views on plans to switch from weekly rubbish collections to fortnightly bin rounds.
Brighton and Hove City Council has launched a public survey as it considers reducing the frequency of household waste collections, saying expanded recycling and food waste services have cut the amount of general rubbish being thrown away.
Communal bin collections would remain unchanged.
The council recently expanded plastic recycling to include pots, tubs and trays, while food waste collections have now been rolled out across the city.
Labour councillor Tim Rowkins said Brighton and Hove is one of only 62 councils in England still collecting rubbish weekly.
The “More Recycling Less Waste” survey is available on the council’s website until Saturday 16 May
