Serious collision closes A27 westbound between Falmer and Brighton

The A27 westbound in East Sussex has been closed between the B2123 at Falmer and the A23 at Brighton following a serious collision at around 2:00am this morning.
Police are conducting collision investigations, meaning the closure is likely to remain in place throughout the day.
Diversions in place
Traffic has been diverted via local routes at the B2123 junction, and a strategic diversion route is available for road users travelling from the A26 Beddingham junction.
Drivers following the strategic diversion route should:
Exit onto the southbound A26 at Beddingham.
Follow to the A259 junction, exiting onto the westbound A259 and travelling towards Brighton.
Continue to the junction with the A23, entering the northbound A23 towards the A27 at Patcham to resume your journey.
