Woman seriously injured during crash on A27
The road has been shut overnight
The A27 has been closed overnight after a serious crash.
Emergency services arrived on the scene shortly after 8pm on Sunday (12 April) following a report of a single-vehicle crash on the eastbound carriageway.
The female driver involved in the accident has sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The male passenger, who was the only other occupant of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and was also hospitalised.
The A27 is closed eastbound between the B2123 (Falmer) and the A277 (Lewes).
Traffic is being diverted via local routes.
