18-year-old charged in connection with Horsham stabbing

A 37-year-old was attacked outside a bar early on Saturday (December 21st)

Police investigating a suspected stabbing outside a bar in Horsham have charged an 18-year-old man.

The 37-year-old was taken to hospital with stab wounds following an altercation outside Mungo's Bar in Park Place in the early hours of Saturday (December 21st).

Officers said the victim was treated and has since been discharged.

A suspect was detained and a bladed article was recovered close to the site of the incident, which happened while the bar was closed.

Santon Dhar, of Ifield Road, Crawley, has been charged with committing grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article in public and possession of cannabis.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on January 20th.

A 22-year-old man from Southwark in London, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
