Woman hit by lorry in Woking suffers life changing injuries
The driver of the lorry has been arrested
A woman in her 70s is in a critical condition after she was hit by a lorry in Woking.
Emergency services were called to Pembroke Road at the junction with Pembroke Gardens shortly after 1pm on Tuesday (1 April) following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry.
The woman's injuries have been described as life changing by Surrey Police.
The driver of the lorry, a 40-year-old man from Bracknell, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
Enquires remain ongoing and the driver has been released on police bail.
Surrey Police are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
