A man has been arrested after a woman was reportedly seen being forced into a vehicle in Addlestone.

Surrey Police say they responded to reports of a concern for safety on Weybridge Road outside St Georges College shortly before 6pm on Thursday (8 May).

Officers were able to safely locate the vehicle and the two people inside. A man in his 30s has been arrested for a number of offences. The woman involved is being supported by specialist officers, and it's believed the pair are known to each other.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said in a post on Facebook: "We understand the concern an incident like this can cause to the local community, but we want to reassure the public that a full investigation into the matter is underway.

"We are looking to speak to anyone who might have witnessed this altercation, or captured CCTV or dashcam footage of all or part of this incident."
