Witness appeal after incident involving lamb in Guildford
It happened earlier this month
Police are appealing for witnesses, after an incident where a lamb is suspected to have been stolen and killed in a field off Pirbright Road, Normandy, sometime between 9pm on Sunday, 17 May and 5am on Monday, 18 May.
The field has fencing adjacent to School Road, Pirbright. There were no signs consistent with a predatory animal attack and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Investigating officer, PC James Wright, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity, vehicles or behaviour in the area overnight, particularly around Pirbright Road, School Road or surrounding areas.
“We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern within our rural communities and we want to reassure residents and farmers that enquiries are being actively progressed. Rural crime has a significant impact on local livelihoods and animal welfare, and we take reports like this seriously."
