A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Egham.

Police were called to Crabtree Road at 2.26am this morning (19 October) following reports of a collision involving the driver of a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene, and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.

Surrey Police said officers were already deployed to the area at the time of the collision following multiple calls to a car meet taking place in the area around Vicarage Road.

A dispersal order has been put in place for the whole of Runnymede borough and will be in force until 2.15am on Monday (20 October).
