Surrey Police say a barn fire in Warlingham is being treated as suspicious.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday (12 June) is believed to have been started deliberately. It caused significant damage to the structure and destroyed the majority of straw bales inside.

Fortunately, there were no people inside at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Authorities are appealing for information from anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Specifically, those who were around the junctions of Chelsham Road and Greenhill Lane between 5am and 6am yesterday are urged to check for any mobile phone, CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that might have captured the incident.

Anyone with information that could assist in their enquiries is encouraged to come forward.
