Police seek witnesses after a man is seriously injured in an altercation

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Walton-on-Thames.

The altercation took place on a boat near the Anglers public house on Manor Road, as reported by witnesses shortly after 5pm on 13th May.

A man in his 30s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the stabbing occurred.

Police cordons have been established in the surrounding area, and officers are expected to remain on site as they continue their investigation.

Inspector David Richardson, who is leading the investigation, emphasized the ongoing police activity in Walton-on-Thames, including the use of a police drone and helicopter.

While an arrest has been made, Inspector Richardson urged anyone with information, or who witnessed the altercation, to contact police immediately.

Richardson said, “We appreciate that the police activity may cause concern and distress amongst local residents, and we would like to reassure you that we are working diligently to establish the circumstances of what happened earlier today."

Residents are encouraged to approach officers in the area should they have any concerns or inquiries.
