Five arrested after fight inside Alton Waitrose

The group includes four teenagers as young as 13, while a man received a stab wound to his hand.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Alton last night.

Emergency services were called at about 7.30pm to reports of a group of youths smashing bottles and fighting inside the Waitrose on Station Road.

A 23-year-old man suffered a suspected stab wound to his hand and was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

There were reports of a further altercation within the railway station car park nearby.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

A 15-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray.

A 16-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 13-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray.

A 15-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray.

They all remain in custody at this time.
