A motorist has appeared in court charged with driving offences after cyclists were injured in three separate van collisions in Elmbridge, Surrey Police said.

The alleged incidents on August 11 left the cyclists with minor injuries, the force said.

Stuart Pringle, 55, of Walton-Upon-Thames, appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with three counts of dangerous driving, three counts of failing to stop following a collision, three counts of battery and driving while unfit through drugs.

The first alleged incident was reported to have happened at around 8.10am on Molesey Road.

A cyclist was travelling north when a grey Citroen Berlingo van approached from behind and collided with them before driving away, the force said.

Similar events were reported at around 8.30am on Hepworth Way in Walton-on-Thames, and at around 9.35am on Thames Street in Sunbury-on-Thames.

Pringle was ordered to next appear in custody at Guildford Crown Court on September 10.
