Two teenagers charged after Hersham schools and nursery placed on lockdown

Institutions in Hersham took precautionary measures following reports of an armed individual

Two teenagers have been charged following an incident that led to the temporary lockdown of schools and a nursery in Hersham.

The police were called to Bell Farm Way, Hersham, on 21st July after reports indicated an individual was armed with a weapon.

As a result, Three Rivers Academy, Bell Farm Primary School, and Toad Hall Nursery implemented precautionary lockdowns.

Mackenzie Campos, 18, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place. He pleaded guilty and has been remanded into custody. Campos is expected to be sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on 20th August.

Leon Brown, also 18, from Tottenham, faced the same charge but pleaded not guilty. He remains in custody and will appear at Guildford Crown Court on the same date.
